Whilst any coaching intervention needs to match the needs of those being coached, there are some elements which could form the basis of a lot of interventions. One such is the MBTI.A workshop would involve a process of understanding the relevance, validity and value of the MBTI as well as the ethical principles involved in using it. Using an online system, prior to the workshop day, participants will be asked to fill in a short questionnaire. Then the workshop will involve working through a series of processes and exercises (the balance of these subject to need and time constraint) and understanding personal type and preference. This is really enjoyable, leads to huge self-understanding and value.

The main elements of a workshop are:

  • Understanding the background to the MBTI, ethical principles and validity
  • Completing a questionnaire (NB where time is shorter this can be completed prior to a workshop)
  • Understanding and working with the four dichotomies and self-selection of preferences
  • Deciding on best-fit type
  • Application of learning
  • Planning how to move forward
Delivery of these workshops can be adapted to a half day or a full day, but clearly less can be achieved with less time. With the intent of delivering quality and lasting benefit a participant will leave with one of the booklets (or similar) shown on the MBTI page of this website. Also, participants can be included as recipients of a newsletter via e-mail if so wished.
